Vidya Balan as Silk Smitha in ‘The Dirty Picture’ Teaser
Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah steam it up in this really hot teaser of The Dirty Picture
The film, a biopic of south siren Silk Smitha, is directed by Milan Luthria and stars Vidya in the title role. It will trace the rise of Silk Smitha from an extra artiste to the hottest babe in Kollywood. The buzz is that the movie also has some very hot scenes between Vidya and Emraan Hashmi, and Vidya and Tusshar Kapoor.

The Dirty Picture is a biopic dramatizing the tragic life of the south siren Silk Smitha. Born as Vijayalaxmi, she was discovered by an Indian director at a flour mill and was renamed Smitha. She got the name ‘Silk’ after her character in her first major role in a Tamil movie.
Along with Vidya Balan who plays Silk Smitha, the movie also stars Naseeruddin ShahTusshar Kapoor plays the role of a writer of Smitha’s films and her love interest followed by Emraan Hashmi who’s role has yet to be revealed. The film is directed by Milan Luthria and produced Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. who’s character is told to be along the lines of an ageing South Indian superstar;
The film will release on December 2nd, 2011.
Synopsis: Imagine a make-up girl who became an extra and then the most wanted heroine of the early 80s.
Chronicling the meteoric rise and steep fall of the erstwhile screen sensation - Silk Smitha, The Dirty Picture is set against the colorful and entertaining backdrop of the South film industry of the 80’s.
The quintessential siren, Silk, knew her audiences, and it didn’t seem like anything would stop the fiercely ambitious starlet, till it did, in the shape of unrequited love.
To the world, she was the queen of sensuality. But at heart, Silk was just another woman craving true love.
An unfortunate encounter with deceit and infidelity led to dire consequences!
Balaji and Milan Luthria team up again after their smash hit, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, to create a dazzling and spectacular musical entertainer that is already in the news for being the most keenly anticipated drama of the year.
